Home The GQHPA is based at the Lockyer Indoor Equestrian Centre, Gatton Showgrounds, Gatton Queensland. Stabling & powered Camping sites are available. Wash Bay, Warm up arena & covered equestrian centre provided.
We are a community organization which cater for Beginner riders to the more advanced. We regularly run Western Performance shows open to Quarter Horses, Appaloosas, Paints, Pintos & Other Breeds.
Clinics are held throughout the year with respected instructors. Members are welcome to give us suggestions but we do hold clinics ranging from Western Pleasure, Reining, Showmanship at Halter, Trail, Hunter in Hand, English events.

NEW Rules as of the 1st AUG. 82.1 Optional equipment a) Spurs of the unrowelled type whose shank does not exceed 2.4cm 81. WESTERN EQUIPMENT g)Junior horses competing in junior western pleasure, western horsemanship, reining, working cow horse, western riding and trail that are shown with a hackamore or snaffle bit may be ridden with two hands on the reins. (reins must be bridged not crossed)

CODE OF CONDUCT
Competitors/participants at any event run by Gatton Quarter Horse & Performance Association Inc. have a responsibility to ensure the welfare of their horses and at all times to treat their horses humanely and with dignity, respect and compassion. Competitors/participants are to conduct themselves in a professional manner and act with integrity in all dealings with the Affiliate and other competitors. To uphold the rules and regulations of the Gatton Quarter Horse & Performance Association Inc. and the AQHA at all times. Competitors/participants are to demonstrate good sportsmanship at all times, showing respect for your fellow competitors and officials, following the rules and to treat people the way you yourself wish to be treated.

Requirements to be eligible for an award
Each horse and rider must have attended 4 club shows.
Each member must complete 5hrs of assistance eg: stewarding, gate marshalling, announcing etc.
Points will be automatically recorded from the official show results.
